Abner Osburn, Physician, Papers
Papers of Dr. Abner Osburn, a physician who practiced in Jefferson County, West Virginia in the late nineteenth century. The collection contains Civil War material, including a letter, currency, and a pass from Harpers Ferry. Other items include bonds for the purchase of slaves, programs from various collegiate events, certificates for the legal practice of medicine, correspondence, and other material. Abram Marsh, Soldier, Civil War Letter From Hospital
Photostat copy of a letter written by Abram Marsh, a Union soldier, to his sisters in West Virginia, dated 11 October 1864. Marsh had been wounded and was writing from the field hospital at Sandy Hook, Maryland. Marsh writes of his homesickness, his slowly improving health, and his desire for news from home.
